Helping Women Escape the Cycle of Poverty
NEW PROJECT

This partnership with Asociación Grupo de Trabajo Redes in Lima, Peru, is designed to raise women’s understanding of their legal rights and improve their skills to enable them to get better paying jobs, thereby directly helping them and their families and protecting them from physical and sexual abuse. A mobile unit (Van de Panchita) will be used to publicize the services offered in the Casa de Panchita including training in vocational and interpersonal skills, labor rights and obligations, conflict resolution and contract negotiation. The van also serves to transport women to the training sessions as needed. Fifteen workshops will be held per year, consisting of three hours of instruction per day over three days. It is expected that in one year, 400 women will attend workshops and 300 will be helped to acquire formal job contracts. New project
