This project with longtime BGR partner Oxfam America addresses food-security challenges for 450 households in South Darfur, Sudan, focusing on women-headed households. Displaced men, women, and children from southwestern Kass locality in South Darfur who had previously fled due to conflict are continuing to return to their villages of origin as security conditions are stabilizing. Agricultural production is one of the few options for former internally displaced people (IDPs) to regain their livelihoods and meet their basic needs. Working in five vulnerable communities of the Kerende village cluster in Kass locality, Oxfam America will provide agricultural training and supplies to benefit an estimated 2,250 people. The project will provide farmers with seeds and training in climate-resilient agricultural techniques. This project will build on the experience of previous BGR-funded agricultural support in Kass locality. Annually renewable project
