In March 2022, Buddhist Global Relief made $10,000 in emergency grants to five organizations working on the ground in Ukraine and surrounding countries to help those who are most endangered by the crisis there:

BGR partner Action Against Hunger is working with local organizations in Moldova to provide hot meals, cleaning kits, diapers and wet wipes, baby formula, heaters, and other essentials to Ukrainian families in refugee reception centers. AAH is working to install latrines, bio-organic toilets, and showers for refugees with special needs in the days ahead.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is working with authorities, UN agencies, displaced community groups, and partners in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance to the more than 3.5 million refugees estimated to have fled Ukraine since the start of the invasion.

BGR partner CARE is providing food, water, hygiene kits, and cash support, especially to women, children, families, and the elderly.

The U.N. World Food Programme intends to reach 3.15 million people affected by the Ukraine conflict through cash-based transfers and in-kind food distributions and to assist 300,000 displaced Ukrainians in refugee hosting countries.

The International Rescue Committee is working with partner organizations in Poland to provide critical information services as well as sleeping bags, medical supplies and other essentials to refugees from Ukraine who are crossing the border. The IRC is also working with partners in Ukraine to provide lifesaving support to civilians forced to flee their homes amid growing violence.

May all who suffer from the impacts of war and violence be free from harm. May all displaced peoples around the world find home.
